A cabled weather station and wind meter is usually mounted on top of building or steel fabricated tower ,the gadgets are mounted on those tops and they send data about  wind speed,direction etc to base station computer from there weather fro cast for wind speed direction are generated and supply to public through radio,wireless,etc. Those are very sophisticated instruments so we should purchase them from a branded weather stationery shop.
